vuhvoidloves Bloody Hell. This is good stuff. Otherworldly drones on an epic stereo scale, with some truly beautiful moments of Satie-esque piano sequences. I love the percussion in 'Entering the Realm of Dis Pater' - as if the drum is broadcasting from another galaxy. Some soaring Blade Runner synth swells throughout also, but done in such a way that this is a very unique album with influences but ultimately this is 'Idylls' own unique sound and experience. Look forward to checking more out. Favorite track: A Shrine, A Place of Refuge.

iliacbaby An incredibly confident and adept debut from one of my favorite dungeon synth artists. Sounds old-school but also organic with a sense of large scale. The music is dramatic and exciting but it also flows easily. Slava Ukraini Favorite track: Behold, the Mountain.

_Skogur Absolutely tremendous. Dances between the line of worldly epic and that very personal isolation that dungeon synth is known for. This will take you dizzying heights and dark places while never stretching itself too thin. A top album of the year for me, easily. Favorite track: Reciting the Scroll of In Quas Vas Under a Full Moon.

A great author once said "What other dungeon is so dark as one's own heart! What jailer so inexorable as one's self!".

With that in mind, this is a journey deep inside the Mountain, a pilgrimage of sorts, in order to find, confront and understand the greatest of all the mythical monsters: the Self.

So is this a dungeon synth album? I guess so. Is it a dark ambient album? I suppose so too, yes.

But perhaps, more than anything, this is an album that had to be made in order for me to rediscover that place of shining wonder and terrifying splendor that was so easy to find when I was younger and my imagination could run wild so effortlessly.

I hope you find listening to this album as immersive, transcendent and enjoyable as it was for me to make it.

PS. I am very proud to note that the album was voted as one of the top 10 albums of the year by the Dungeon Synth Cult Album of the Year Awards 2021.
